Unfortunately, Mr. Janusz will not receive cards with wishes and thanks from our students. On October 14, 2018, he and his wife Maria died in an accident. I was lucky to meet them both. They were amazing people. Although their youth fell on a difficult war and post-war period, they never lost their serenity, joy and had many plans for the future.
When they left, the world turned sad.

Janusz Orszt was born on February 11, 1932. in Bobrowniki. Until September 1939. he lived with his parents in Lubicz. After the outbreak of the war, the mother and her sons moved to Włocławek, and the father went to the front. They stayed in Włocławek until the spring of 1942, then for a year
in Kromszewice, to live in Warsaw from the spring of 1943.

In June 1944, Mr. Janusz graduated from the 5th grade of the Public Primary School at ul. Miodowa. After the uprising broke out, the head of the boarding school introduced him as a liaison to the "Mścisław" group of the Home Army, where he received the pseudonym "Mały". On August 21, he was injured in his left knee and was placed in an insurgent hospital next to St. Jack. On September 2, the Vlasovites entered the town. They murdered the seriously injured, as well as medical, nursing and technical staff. They also killed all those who were slightly wounded and hidden in cellars. In one of the last groups to be shot was Mr. Janusz. It is only thanks to exceptional luck that he owes his life. A moment before the command "pal" was given, a group of insurgents led by guards to the camp in Pruszków arrived. In order to make up for the shortcomings in the personal status of this group (due to escapes), the convicts were included in it. Mr. J. Orszt escaped from Pruszków and found shelter in an orphanage by the Salesian convent in Miedniewice, outside Żyrardów. After the liberation by the Russians in January 1945. went to Warsaw to find his family. Before the outbreak of the uprising, my mother lived at ul. Narbutta 25, but the tenement house was completely destroyed. So he left a note
with information and took refuge with his father's friends - the Modrzejewski teachers. He met with them
with father Henryk, and in April 1945 with the rest of the family in Włocławek.

Soon after, they moved to Toruń. Here, Mr. Janusz graduated from high school and practiced the sport of gliding. He was admitted to the Officer School of Engineering and Sapper in Wrocław,
but after a year it was removed as "a dangerous element with a Home Army and insurgent past".

He started studies at the Higher Theater School in Krakow, which he graduated in 1957. Then he lived and worked in Poznań, and from 1967 in Kołobrzeg. As a pensioner he works socially. He was the organizer of the Home Army Soldiers' Club - the continuators of the idea of the Home Army. For many years he is the president of the Kołobrzeg Circle of the World Association of Home Army Soldiers. Decorated with the Home Army Cross and the Warsaw Uprising Cross.

A group of students from our school made friends with Mr. Janusz during the preparation of works for the competition "Invincible 1918-2018. Independent Generations ". During the telephone conversation, they collected information about Janusz's uncle - Ludwik and Józef Orszt. Thanks to the support of Mr. Janusz, our school received a 5-year deposit of decorations
after Henryk Orsza from the Museum of Polish Arms in Kołobrzeg. The souvenirs will be presented in the emerging school memorial room.
